Full Time | Immediate Start
Salary: Competitive (based on experience)
Create Education is working with a welcoming pair of well-established primary schools in Lewisham to recruit a proactive and organised Attendance Officer who will also support admissions processes. This is a key role within the school, ensuring pupils’ attendance is closely monitored, records are accurate, and administrative processes run smoothly.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and wants to contribute to the success of pupils, staff, and the wider school community, all whilst maintaining a positive and approachable attitude.
About the Role
As the Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and improving pupil attendance, liaising with parents and external agencies, and supporting admissions and administrative processes. You will work closely with the leadership team and wider staff to ensure accurate records, smooth daily operations, and a safe and organised environment for pupils.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring pupil attendance and following up on absences
  • Managing attendance records and daily registers
  • Liaising with parents, staff, and external agencies regarding attendance concerns
  • Supporting admissions processes, including new pupil enrolments and transfers
  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and updating information in the school MIS system
  • Supporting the leadership team with general administrative duties as required
  • Using the school MIS system (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar) to manage and report on attendance and admissions data
Essential Experience
  • Previous experience in a school administration or attendance-related role
  • Experience using one or more MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or other school MIS)
  • Excellent IT skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A calm and organised approach, able to work under pressure
  • Professional, confident, and personable, with a good sense of humour and a friendly personality
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
