Job Description:
If you’re an Early Years teacher who loves helping children take their very first steps in school, and you believe a positive start in Reception can shape a child’s entire learning journey, this could be the role for you.
Hi, I’m Ava, an Education Recruitment Consultant at Create Education. I’m currently supporting a welcoming and community-focused primary school in Camden that is looking for a strong Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team from September.
The school is well established in the local area and known for its supportive leadership, collaborative staff culture and nurturing approach to early learning. The Early Years setting is a real strength of the school, with a strong focus on play-based learning, language development, early phonics and helping children build confidence as they begin their school journey.
Staff work closely together and genuinely support one another. The environment is calm, friendly and child-centred, with a strong emphasis on helping pupils feel secure, curious and ready to learn.
The Role
  • Teach a Reception class within a well-established Early Years setting
  • Plan engaging, play-based lessons following the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Support pupils’ development across communication, early phonics, numeracy and personal development
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel confident to explore and learn
  • Work closely with Early Years support staff and the wider teaching team
  • Observe, assess and track pupil progress through EYFS assessment
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers during children’s first year of school
  • Contribute to the wider life of a welcoming, community-focused primary school
Who We’re Looking For
  • PGCE and QTS (essential – non-negotiable)
  • Strong experience teaching Reception or within Early Years
  • Confident delivering early phonics and foundational learning
  • A warm, nurturing and patient teaching style
  • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management suited to young learners
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys working with 4–5 year olds and understands the importance of this stage
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Why Join This School?
This Camden primary school is known locally for its supportive staff culture and strong Early Years provision.
  • A welcoming and collaborative staff team
  • A well-resourced Early Years environment designed for exploration and play
  • Supportive leadership that values staff wellbeing
  • Opportunities for professional development and progression
  • A school that believes strong relationships with children and families are at the heart of great education
The school is looking for a confident Early Years teacher who can bring creativity, warmth and strong classroom practice to the Reception classroom, helping children develop the confidence and skills they need for the rest of their education.
If you’re an Early Years Teacher looking for a welcoming school where you can make a real difference from the very start of a child’s learning journey, I’d love to speak with you.
