Location: Camden, London
Hours: Full-time (term time)

Hi, I’m Ava, an Education Recruitment Consultant, and I’m currently working with a warm and welcoming primary school in Camden who are looking for an Early Years Teacher to join their team.
This is a lovely opportunity to become part of a supportive school community where early development, creativity and nurturing each child’s potential are at the heart of everything they do. The school provides a positive and engaging environment where children are encouraged to explore, learn and grow with confidence.
This role would suit someone who is passionate about early years education and is committed to creating a stimulating, inclusive and caring classroom where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment that supports all pupils
  • Observe, assess and record children’s progress, maintaining accurate learning journals
  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development alongside their early academic skills
  • Use a range of teaching strategies, including play-based learning, to engage and inspire pupils
  • Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of all learners
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver high-quality provision
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers
  • Contribute to planning meetings, staff development and wider school life
  • Maintain a well-organised and stimulating classroom environment, including displays and resources
  • Support children with routines, transitions and daily activities
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

Person Specification:
Experience
  • Experience teaching within an Early Years setting is essential

Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Knowledge of child development and early learning strategies
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with children, staff and families
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
