The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and skilled KS3 Teacher to join a dedicated and forward-thinking team at a thriving independent SEN school in East London. The school provides education for pupils aged 7–16 with a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Autism Spectrum Disorder .
You will be teaching a primary-model KS3 class of Year 7 and 8 pupils, focusing on core subject learning and helping students develop the academic, social, and emotional skills needed for successful transition into upper Key Stage 3. About the Role:

As a KS3 Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across core subjects (English, Maths, Science, PSHE), ensuring teaching is adapted to meet individual EHCP outcomes. You will foster a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and positive relationships.
You will be expected to:
  • Deliver well-structured, creative, and differentiated lessons across a primary-model KS3 curriculum.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, social communication, and engagement in learning.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence through positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure a consistent, holistic approach to each pupil’s development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through planning, enrichment, and shared best practice.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience of or a strong interest in working with SEN and SEMH learners.
  • Demonstrates creativity, flexibility, and a nurturing approach to teaching and learning.
  • Can deliver differentiated learning experiences to meet diverse needs and abilities.
  • Is committed to reflective practice, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.
  • Possesses excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
