SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in a Peckham primary school?
We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Peckham that is seeking an
SEN TA to support pupils with additional needs across
KS1 and KS2. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting children to thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop confidence and independence.
Your Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Support pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language, or social/emotional difficulties
- Assist with adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Help pupils remain engaged, regulated, and motivated during lessons
- Support positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and personal development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and wider school staff
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grades 4–9)
- Experience working as an SEN TA, Learning Support Assistant, or supporting children with additional needs
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
- Experience with EHCPs or specific needs is desirable but not essential
