Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact in a Woolwich primary school?
We are working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in
Woolwich that is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated TA who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting children to reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning and classroom routines, providing help to individuals and small groups where needed.
Your Responsibilities
- Support pupils across KS1 and/or KS2 with their learning and development
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support as required
- Help pupils stay engaged, focused, and motivated in lessons
- Support pupils with transitions, routines, and positive behaviour
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and wider school staff
What We’re Looking For
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grades 4–9)
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a primary school
- A positive, patient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and well-being
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is desirable but not essential
