Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 45 hours per week (including a paid one-hour daily break)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced Office Manager / Exams Officer to join a welcoming and inclusive special school in South London. The school provides a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
This pivotal role sits at the heart of the school’s operations, combining leadership of the administrative function with responsibility for the efficient coordination and compliance of all examinations processes.

About the Role:
The Office Manager / Exams Officer plays a key role in ensuring the smooth daily running of the school’s administrative operations, as well as overseeing all internal and external examination processes in accordance with regulatory requirements. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently across various platforms and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the school’s administrative office.
  • Coordinate the examination process, including entries, scheduling, invigilation, and secure handling of materials.
  • Ensure compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, including student data and safeguarding logs.
  • Use and manage systems such as BROMCOMCPOMS, and other school-specific platforms.
  • Support staff and senior leaders with scheduling, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Be the first point of contact for external agencies during exams and audits.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and compliance across all administrative processes.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working in a school office environment (essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of school systems such as BROMCOMCPOMS, and related platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage complex administrative tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • A clear understanding of examinations procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A flexible, proactive approach to problem-solving and multitasking.
  • High levels of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • A calm, positive attitude under pressure and during busy exam periods.
  • Availability to start immediately.
