Smile Education is currently recruiting for a Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in the Humberston area of Grimsby from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality lessons, building positive relationships with pupils and helping children develop academically, socially and personally.

The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment where children are encouraged to become confident, independent and enthusiastic learners. With a broad curriculum from Nursery through to Year 6, the school places a strong emphasis on curiosity, creativity, personal development and preparing pupils for their next stage of education.

The RoleAs a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging and purposeful learning experiences that inspire pupils and help them achieve their potential.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the primary curriculum.
  • Creating an engaging, inclusive and positive classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Differentiating lessons and activities to meet a range of learning needs.
  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining high expectations.
  • Developing strong and positive relationships with pupils.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and other members of staff.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and, where appropriate, parents and carers.
  • Encouraging pupils to become confident, independent and resilient learners.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a dedicated Primary Teacher who can bring enthusiasm, professionalism and creativity into the classroom.
You will ideally have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A minimum of 6 months' UK classroom experience.
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
ECTs are welcome to apply, provided you meet the relevant requirements.

The location is accessible for teachers travelling from Grimsby, Cleethorpes, New Waltham, Waltham, Healing, Laceby and surrounding areas.

Requirements
To work with Smile Education, you will need:
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • The ability to provide two years of employment and/or education references.
  • At least one reference relating to working with children.
  • References available during the pre-screen or registration process wherever possible.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications, including QTS.

All successful candidates will complete a registration appointment with Smile Education as part of our safeguarding and compliance process.
Once we receive your application and required documentation, we aim to arrange your registration promptly so our compliance team can begin processing your file and help you become available for suitable teaching opportunities as quickly as possible.
