Business Studies Teacher (Maternity Cover, Head of Department Role)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business Studies teacher to join our school as Head of Department (Maternity Cover). This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to lead a thriving Business Studies department, with responsibilities both in the classroom and in departmental management.
The role is expected to commence December 2025, though an earlier start date would be highly advantageous.

  • Contract: Fixed term, maternity cover

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching GCSE Business Studies and A-Level Business Studies to a high standard
  • Providing strategic leadership and management of the Business Studies department
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the team to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Contributing to the school’s wider curriculum and enrichment opportunities

The school is a large, diverse secondary in North West London with a long-standing reputation for academic ambition, inclusivity, and strong pastoral support. The Business Studies department is well-established, popular with students, and consistently achieves excellent outcomes at both GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will join a supportive leadership team and a vibrant staff community.

About You

We are looking for an experienced teacher who:
  • Has a proven track record of teaching GCSE and A Level Business Studies
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Is committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement
  • Values inclusion and is motivated to inspire students from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Has QTS and a recognised teaching qualification e.g. PGCE, GTP, School Direct.
