We are now seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Geography to lead our dedicated team in delivering an outstanding Geography curriculum that engages, challenges, and inspires our students.

The Role
As the Head of Geography, you will:
  • Lead and Inspire: Provide strategic leadership and manage the Geography department to ensure excellent teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and oversee an innovative, inclusive, and ambitious Geography curriculum.
  • Teaching Excellence: Deliver high-quality lessons and foster a love for Geography among students.
  • Team Management: Support and mentor staff within the department, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
  • Data-Driven Improvement: Use data effectively to monitor student progress, implement interventions, and improve attainment.
  • Resource Management: Ensure effective allocation of resources to support the department's goals and priorities.
  • Enrichment Activities: Lead extracurricular initiatives that extend students’ learning and interest in Geography beyond the classroom.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a degree in Geography or a closely related subject and have qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Have significant experience teaching Geography across Key Stages, including GCSE and A-Level.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of driving high student outcomes and raising achievement.
  • Possess strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Be passionate about Geography, with a commitment to nurturing curiosity and critical thinking in students.
  • Show excellent organisational and communication skills.
