Business Studies Teacher
Permanent for September 2026
Barnet, London

We’re a lively, diverse secondary school in North London looking for a Business Studies teacher who enjoys explaining new concepts and ideas, challenging students to think outside the box, and making lessons feel connected to real life. You’ll be teaching students who are curious, outspoken, sometimes sceptical, and often full of surprising insight once they’re given the chance to explore it.
This is a role for someone who enjoys building strong classroom relationships, shaping a curriculum that makes sense to teenagers, and helping young people understand finance, enterprise, and decision-making in ways that feel relevant rather than theoretical.

The role includes:

  • Teaching Business Studies at KS4 and KS5
  • Planning lessons that encourage discussion, debate, and independent thinking
  • Helping students develop confidence, commercial awareness, and analytical skills
  • Contributing to a supportive, collaborative department
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Holds a UK-recognised teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is a strong classroom practitioner
  • Explains complex ideas simply and clearly
  • Values curiosity, independence, and honest conversation
  • Enjoys working as part of a thoughtful, hardworking team
  • Can also teach a second and/or third subject such as Economics, ICT, or Computer Science - this would be a significant advantage
What you’ll find here:
  • Motivated students who respond to engaging teaching
  • A department that shares ideas, resources, and responsibility
  • Leaders who trust teachers and value professionalism
  • A school culture that is calm, respectful, and ambitious
If you enjoy teaching Business Studies in a way that feels relevant, grounded, and genuinely interesting, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note:
Applicants must hold a UK-recognised teaching qualification and QTS is mandatory. Unfortunately, applications from unqualified teachers cannot be considered.

We are committed to safeguarding children. Each applicant will be expected to undertake compliance checks including Prohibited list, Barred list, DBS and Qualifications.
