The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified English Teacher (ECTs are welcome to apply) to join our successful English department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about their subject, committed to high standards of teaching and learning, and able to engage and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and KS5 if applicable).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons that inspire and challenge all learners.
  • Teach across the ability range, ensuring excellent progress for all students.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and respect.
  • Engage with parents, colleagues, and the wider school community to support student achievement and wellbeing.
About You
We’re looking for a dynamic teacher who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.
  • Has proven experience teaching in mainstream secondary schools within the UK.
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is reflective, collaborative, and committed to continuous professional development.
