An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Geography teacher to join a thriving secondary school on the outskirts of North/East London. This role offers the potential to lead the Geography department, making it ideal for candidates with a proven track record of excellence in teaching and leadership.
About the School
The school is a co-educational Church of England academy catering to students aged 11 to 18. It has been recognised by Ofsted as a 'Good' school, with commendations for its quality of education, leadership, and sixth form provision. The institution prides itself on its aspirational ethos, and has made massive strides towards being an exceptional school.
The Geography department is known for delivering an ambitious curriculum that broadens students' horizons and fosters a deep understanding of the world. The school supports continuous professional development and encourages innovative teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the Geography curriculum.
  • Support and inspire students to achieve their full potential.
  • If appointed as Head of Department: lead the Geography team, oversee curriculum planning, and drive departmental improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Geography.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching Geography at secondary level.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience (for Head of Department consideration).
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Alignment with the school's values and ethos.
