Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish/French/German)
Permanent for September 2026
Haringey, London

We are a welcoming, inclusive secondary school looking for a Modern Foreign Languages teacher who enjoys helping students find their voice in another language and discover how communication opens doors to different cultures, ideas, and ways of thinking. You’ll be teaching learners who are curious, expressive, sometimes hesitant, and often far more capable than they realise.
This is a role for someone who enjoys building strong classroom relationships, designing lessons that balance structure with creativity, and helping young people develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
The role includes:
  • Teaching Spanish and/or French across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 opportunities
  • Planning engaging lessons that build linguistic accuracy and real-world communication skills
  • Creating a classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes
  • Contributing to a supportive, collaborative department
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Is a strong classroom practitioner
  • Explains language clearly and patiently
  • Values curiosity, communication, and cultural awareness
  • Enjoys working as part of a thoughtful, hardworking team
  • Holds a UK-recognised teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Can also offer German, which would be a strong advantage
What you’ll find here:
  • Engaged students who respond to creative, purposeful teaching
  • A department that shares ideas, resources, and responsibility
  • Leaders who trust teachers and value professionalism
  • A calm, respectful, and ambitious school culture
If you enjoy teaching languages in a way that feels practical, human, and genuinely meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note:
Applicants must hold a UK-recognised teaching qualification and QTS is mandatory. Unfortunately, applications from unqualified teachers cannot be considered.

We are committed to safeguarding children. Each applicant will be expected to undertake compliance checks including Prohibited list, Barred list, DBS and Qualifications.
