GOOD rated SEN school in
Redbridge. The school caters to young people aged 4–18 with a range of complex needs, including
Autism Spectrum Disorder, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ emotional regulation, engagement, and wellbeing, contributing to a safe and positive learning environment. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to help students access their learning and develop key life skills.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group behaviour support to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Implement de-escalation strategies and personalised behaviour support plans in collaboration with teachers and pastoral staff.
- Support students in developing emotional literacy, resilience, and positive coping strategies.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and individuality.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Assist with classroom routines and transitions to help reduce anxiety and behaviour-related barriers to learning.
We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, especially in behaviour or pastoral roles (school, youth work, care, etc.).
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence, resilience, and a calm approach to challenging situations.
- Is committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils.
- Can work both independently and as part of a team to support pupil progress.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is reflective, proactive, and eager to learn and grow within an SEN environment.
- Relevant training in Team Teach, MAPA, or de-escalation is desirable but not essential (training provided).
