School Nurse / Healthcare Assistant – SEN School

£95–£130 per day | Permanent | Full Time | Term-Time Only

This truly isn’t a typical school nurse role - this is a chance to be part of something genuinely special.
Create Education is working in close partnership with a wonderful SEN school in Barking to appoint a compassionate, confident School Nurse / Healthcare Assistant to join their permanent staff team.
This school supports children and young people aged 4–18 with Autism, PMLD and SLD. It is a setting built on warmth, structure, creativity and trust. Music, emotional regulation and communication are at the heart of daily life, and the wellbeing team plays a central role in helping every child feel safe and understood.
About the Role
This is a pivotal position within a multidisciplinary team, supporting pupils with complex medical, physical and emotional needs.
You will be:
The calm and trusted medical presence within the school
Supporting pupils with daily healthcare needs and individual care plans
Working closely with families, therapists, teachers and external health professionals
Helping children feel safe, regulated and ready to learn
You won’t be rushed or overstretched.
You will be valued, listened to and supported as part of a close-knit team that genuinely cares.

Who We’re Looking For
You might be a School Nurse, Children’s Nurse, or an experienced Healthcare Assistant ready to move into a specialist education setting.
You’ll ideally have:
A nursing qualification or strong paediatric / SEN healthcare experience
Experience supporting children with additional or complex needs
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A calm, empathetic and proactive approach
An understanding of safeguarding and SEND (training can be provided)
No prior school nurse experience is required for the right person. Attitude, compassion and a genuine desire to support children matter just as much as qualifications.
