Science Teacher – Alternative Provision
Are you a passionate Science teacher with the skills to inspire and engage young people who need a fresh start in education?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and resilient teacher to join our dedicated team in an Alternative Provision setting. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to students who have faced barriers to learning, including those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, young people excluded from mainstream education, and pupils who may be new to the UK and developing their English language skills.
About the role:
  • Teach engaging and accessible Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Adapt learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, helping them re-engage with education.
  • Work closely with a committed and nurturing team who share a passion for inclusion and second chances.
About the school:
Our provision is a supportive, welcoming, and well-resourced environment where staff work collaboratively to transform the lives of young people. We are proud of our small class sizes, strong pastoral care, and focus on both personal and academic development. Staff are valued, supported, and encouraged to innovate in their teaching, knowing they are part of a team making a genuine impact every day.
About you:
  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • Experience working with young people who display challenging behaviour or have SEMH needs.
  • Resilient, patient, and adaptable, with a creative approach to teaching.
  • A belief in every student’s potential and the drive to help them succeed.
Why join us?
  • A chance to change lives and inspire students who need it most.
  • Supportive leadership and colleagues who prioritise staff wellbeing.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • The reward of seeing students grow in confidence and re-engage with learning.
If you are ready for a role where your passion for Science and commitment to inclusion can truly shine, we would love to hear from you.

We are committed to safeguarding children. Each applicant will be expected to undertake compliance checks including Prohibited list, Barred list, DBS and Qualifications.
