Job Description – SEN Secondary English Teacher – Maidstone

• SEN Secondary English Teacher
• Specialist SEN School
• Teaching English to Secondary-aged students
• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated and accessible English lessons
• Supporting students to develop their literacy, communication and confidence
• Working with students with a range of additional needs
• Adapting lessons and resources to meet individual student needs
• Working closely with teaching assistants and wider support staff
• Creating a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment
• Monitoring student progress and contributing to individual learning plans
• Based in Maidstone
• Salary: up to £42,000 per year

Person Specification – SEN Secondary English Teacher – Maidstone

• UK QTS is essential
• At least 1 year's teaching experience within a school
• Qualified and experienced in teaching English at Secondary level
• Experience working within either SEN or mainstream education
• A strong understanding of SEN and additional needs
• Previous experience working with SEN students is desirable
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential
• Patient, adaptable and committed to inclusive education
• Able to build positive and trusting relationships with students
