Location: Barking, East London
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Pay: £90–£100 per day

About the Role
Create Education is currently seeking dedicated, enthusiastic and proactive SEN Co-Educators to join a specialist educational setting in Barking from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive SEND environment, supporting pupils aged 4–18 years old, from Early Years through to Post-16. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive setting where students are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally whilst building communication, independence and life skills.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact and supporting children and young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential.

The Role
As an SEN Co-Educator, you will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to provide high-quality support both inside and outside the classroom.
You will be supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, develop confidence, regulate emotions and achieve individual targets.
This role requires someone who is adaptable, resilient and comfortable working with students across a range of age groups and abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Assisting students with learning activities and classroom engagement
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Building strong and positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Supporting communication, social interaction and independence skills
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff
  • Encouraging participation, confidence and personal development
  • Providing consistent support throughout the school day
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Using initiative to respond effectively to the individual needs of students
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates who are:
  • Reliable, punctual and committed
  • Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND
  • Proactive and able to use their own initiative
  • Calm, patient and resilient
  • Confident managing behaviour positively and consistently
  • Flexible and comfortable working with pupils aged 4–18 years old
  • Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team players who can work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Committed to helping every child achieve success

Experience supporting children or young people with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, Complex Needs, Learning Difficulties or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs would be advantageous but is not essential.
