Are you a compassionate and proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We’re looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant, inclusive special school in East London.
A background in care is a real bonus (but not essential) – what matters most is your commitment to helping young people thrive, develop independence, and enjoy happy, fulfilling lives.
Why Join?

  • Modern Facilities: Work in purpose-built spaces with sensory rooms and specialist resources.
  • Positive Culture: Join a school where staff well-being, teamwork, and balance are priorities.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting pupils aged 4–18 with a range of complex needs, including autism, PMLD and SLD. This includes:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Assisting with classroom activities, behaviour support, and personal care when needed.
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and life skills.
  • Helping prepare engaging resources to support personalised learning.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure consistency of support.
What We’re Looking For
  • GCSEs in English & Maths (grade 4–9 or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school or care background).
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Flexibility and initiative to adapt to pupils’ needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.
Safeguarding
An enhanced DBS check and full pre-employment screening are required. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and all applicants must share this commitment.
