Job Description:
SEN Teaching Assistant – Islington

• Contract: Full time, long term
• Start: September 2025
• Salary: £90–£110 per day

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking special school in Islington, supporting pupils aged 4–18 with a wide range of complex needs, including Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Your Role Day-to-Day

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils’ individual needs.
• Assist with classroom activities, behaviour regulation, and personal care.
• Encourage communication, social skills, and independence in everyday learning.
• Help prepare resources and maintain a supportive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide consistent, nurturing support.
• Contribute to progress reviews, safeguarding practices, and SEND training.

What We’re Looking For

• GCSEs in English & Maths (grade 4–9 or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in education, care, or similar settings).
• A patient, caring, and resilient nature.
• The ability to adapt quickly and use initiative.
• Strong communication skills and a team spirit.
• Willingness to support with personal care when required.
