A fantastic opportunity is waiting for you to join a vibrant and inclusive special school in East London. The school caters for children and young people aged 4–18 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and Severe Learning Difficulties.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of a committed team helping pupils thrive, gain independence, and live happy, fulfilling lives.

About the Role:
You’ll support teachers in delivering personalised learning experiences for pupils with diverse needs. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent and nurturing support throughout their day.
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of complex needs.
  • Assist in classroom activities, behaviour support, and personal care when required.
  • Help deliver learning activities based on pupils’ education and therapy plans.
  • Encourage and support pupils in developing communication, social, and life skills.
  • Prepare, maintain, and organise learning materials and classroom resources.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities linked to SEND, safeguarding, and school priorities.
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to planning and progress reviews as part of the wider team.
You’ll Need:
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C or above (4–9).
  • Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A good understanding of child development and inclusive learning.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient nature with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility and initiative to adapt to pupils’ changing needs.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
  • Basic IT skills to help with communication and admin tasks.
