SEN Teacher
Location: Enfield
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026

We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEN school in Enfield, supporting pupils with complex communication needs.
Our school serves a wonderfully diverse cohort of learners, with approximately 70% of students being non-verbal. Communication is at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for a teacher who is confident, creative and committed to inclusive, pupil-centred practice.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging, individualised learning to pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Use Makaton, PECS and other AAC tools as core methods of communication
  • Adapt teaching creatively within the school’s bespoke curriculum
  • Work closely with therapists, support staff and families to support holistic development
  • Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment where every pupil can thrive
The Ideal Candidate
  • PGCE and QTS (essential – non-negotiable)
  • Strong competence in Makaton, PECS and similar communication systems
  • Previous SEN teaching experience is highly desirable
  • Primary-trained teachers are very welcome — our curriculum is specialist and fully supported
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach, with a genuine passion for SEN education
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
