Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
We are looking for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support children with additional needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who are non-verbal and be passionate about helping every child reach their full potential. You will be patient, adaptable, and able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
Essential:
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Experience working with non-verbal children.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to adapt learning and support to meet individual needs.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge and experience of Makaton.
  • Experience using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).
  • Understanding of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) strategies and other communication approaches.
  • Experience supporting children with autism and complex communication needs.
