This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a supportive team where kindness, understanding, and encouragement sit at the heart of everything we do. You’ll play a vital role in helping children with Special Educational Needs feel safe, confident, and inspired to learn.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised learning strategies
  • Support children both in the classroom and in small group or one-to-one settings
  • Use communication tools such as Makaton, PECS, visual timetables, sensory resources, and other SEN strategies to support learning and engagement
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Warm, patient, and compassionate
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  • Confident using, or keen to learn, Makaton, PECS, and other SEN tools and approaches
  • A great team player with strong communication skills
  • Resilient, adaptable, and proactive
  • Experienced in SEN support (desirable, but not essential – full training provided)
