Early Years Teaching Assistant (with Phonics & Early Learning Support Experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Westminster
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £90–£105 per day

Do you have a passion for nurturing young learners at the very start of their education journey?

Are you experienced in supporting children through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping them develop confidence, curiosity, and early learning skills?
If that sounds like you — this could be the perfect next step.
A warm and welcoming Church of England primary school in Central London is seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their caring and experienced team. You’ll play a key role in helping children flourish socially, emotionally, and academically in a safe and inspiring setting.

Why You’ll Love This Role
You’ll be joining a school that truly values early childhood education — where play, exploration, and creativity are at the heart of learning. You’ll work closely with skilled practitioners who believe in teamwork, encouragement, and celebrating every small milestone.

This could be the perfect fit if:
  • You love supporting children as they take their first steps into education.
  • You have experience with phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc or Little Wandle.
  • You’re passionate about helping young children develop independence, communication skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll support the class teacher and pupils by:
  • Assisting with daily phonics, reading, and early maths activities.
  • Supporting small groups and individuals through play-based learning.
  • Encouraging positive routines, social skills, and emotional well-being.
  • Helping create a stimulating and inclusive environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Collaborating with the EYFS team to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
We’d Love to Hear From You If:
  • You’ve worked in an EYFS or Nursery setting and understand early years child development.
  • You’re warm, proactive, and love making learning fun.
  • You’re confident supporting speech, language, and early literacy.
  • You hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • You’re committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and continuous professional growth.
What Ofsted Says About the School (2023):“Pupils achieve well and are proud of their learning. Staff set high expectations and support every pupil to succeed. The school’s caring culture shines through.” Ready to Make a Difference in Early Years?
If you’re ready to bring your energy, creativity, and care to a wonderful early years team, we’d love to hear from you.
