Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community in North London. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who have a range of SEN and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, helping them achieve both academically and personally.
About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support pupils with a range of learning and emotional needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that promote inclusion and progress.
  • Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils, helping them develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Implement individual learning and behaviour support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure each child receives the best possible support.
  • Promote a calm, nurturing, and safe classroom environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient when faced with challenges.
  • Ideally experienced in an SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision setting (though training can be provided).
  • A strong communicator and team player, able to work effectively with staff and pupils alike.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) and/or experience working with SEN pupils are desirable but not essential.
