Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant – Science (with SEN support)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (with potential increase if able to teach/cover lessons)

About the School We are a dynamic, inclusive mainstream secondary school in Haringey, committed to providing an outstanding education for all students. Our Science department is passionate about inspiring curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in our students. We also pride ourselves on supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within our mainstream setting, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.

The Role We are seeking a motivated Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our Science department. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on teaching experience in a supportive environment while contributing to the academic and personal development of our students.
As part of your role, you will:
  • Support classroom learning in Science across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, practical experiments, and learning activities.
  • Provide targeted support to students with SEN within the mainstream classroom.
  • Help prepare teaching resources and assist in the smooth running of laboratory sessions.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting inclusivity and engagement.
About You The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a Science degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related field).
  • Have a passion for education and a desire to support young people’s learning.
  • Have experience (or a strong interest) in working with students with SEN.
  • Be adaptable, enthusiastic, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be willing and able to take lessons, with the potential for pay progression if this is possible.
