Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – KS1/KS2
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced female SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child working across Year 3. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the child’s individual learning needs
  • Assist with classroom activities and adapt resources where necessary
  • Support the development of literacy skills, with a strong focus on phonics
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
  • Foster a positive, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Essential Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds, or similar programmes)
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach
  • Female candidate required
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
Desirable:
  • Experience supporting children across KS1 and lower KS2
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support
This role is ideal for someone who is committed, proactive, and able to build a trusting relationship with a child to support both their academic and emotional development.
