SEN Teaching Assistant – CroydonAre you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a permanent opportunity in a specialist school?
Create Education are currently working with a fantastic SEN school in Croydon who are looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.
The school supports pupils with Autism (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a structured, supportive and nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop both academically and personally.
The school would ideally like to hear from candidates who already have experience working with children or young people with SEN, ASD or SEMH, although they are also keen to meet people who have the right attitude, resilience and passion for supporting young people.
The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
Support pupils with ASD and SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom.
Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to support individual learning and development.
Help create a calm, positive and structured learning environment.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and encourage their confidence and independence.
Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks.
Follow individual support plans and contribute to the wider pastoral approach of the school.

The Ideal CandidateThe school is looking for someone who is:

Experienced working with children or young people with SEN, ASD and/or SEMH.
Patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent.
Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
A strong communicator who can work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable, consistent and committed to making a genuine difference.
